Cyclestreets.net is a brilliant little website for bicyclists. Just enter where you are and where you want to go and it will take you a proper cyclists route, tell you the distance, how quiet or otherwiseit will be and how many calories you will burn completing it.
This is extraordinary. You can actually choose a route to avoid unnecessary hills. Excellent for the part-time cyclist!

The Dogs Wheels Bike Shop

Unit 56-57, Faraday Mill Business Park, Faraday Rd, Plymouth PL4 0ST, UK – 01752 674646

Very helpful and friendly. I needed new overshoes and they let me try on every different make, even ones that had just arrived in the shop and hadn't been put on display.

As someone who is keen to use local, smaller businesses, rather than just the big companies, I decided to use TDW to sort out a minor problem with my mtb. From first entering the shop, I felt that Mike and the staff actually wanted me to be there. Not only did we discuss the issue I had with my bike, but also, looked at ways of changing riding position/gearing, etc. I eventually asked for a service whilst they had the bike, and got it back a few days later. I'm very pleased with, not just the work they did, but also the friendly, but thoroughly professional manner in which I was treated as a customer. I now intend to use TDW as my 'go to' shop for my mtb needs.

The Bike Cellar

I'd have to say that this bike shop is first class. The owners are passionate about bikes and their knowledge is excellent. When I recently upgraded my bike and was identifying the kit and components for my dream build the suggestions and advice given allowed me to put together the components that would best suit my titanium steed. Craig proved invaluable in allowing me to compare and contrast the differences in groupsets etc. which has subsequently led me to riding my dream bike. Can't thank both Angie and Craig enough and this review will let them to see my gratitude and also allow others to gain access to this independent bike shop where the staff do really know their stuff.

The staff take the time to talk to you, and if they don't have what you are looking for in stock they will order it for you.

Complete Cycle Works

17 Manor Rd, Plymouth PL9 7DP, UK – 07590 438384

Tom (owner) very knowledgable and efficient! Full service including break bleeding, new tyre new bottom bracket bearing, new pads, new rear bearing, all in under 2 hours as he knew I needed the bike!

Tom serviced my hope XC hub as a last ditch attempt before I just bought a new set (seized destroyed bearings races which didn't want to budge) With his experience and knowledge (and tools) no new hubs where needed to be purchased and my hub live on! Legend
