We have stayed here often and it has always been good. The staff are great and the breakfast is fantastic. The rooms are very clean and well equipped. The location is good for the City centre. I unfortunately wrote a very bad review which actually was about a bar on mutley plain it appeared here I apologise for the mistake I would recommend this hotel.
Restraunt/bar pleasant and in same building. Staff friendly and helpful. Prices vary for rooms but can be very reasonable right time of year. Hotel decor and cleanliness g ood. Rooms seem far more basic than I expected for chain. No plugs by beds and only one spare plug in room. Very few drinks in room. In accessible room I'd expected shower not to be in bath but as a shower room. Small basic tv. Parking not cheap and once paid for no garentee of space on return to car park if out during day as spaces limited. Hotel ok perfectly adequate but does feel like a budget hotel

Brilliant night last night. Went to watch "Double Sole". They are fantastic. When they are at the Kings Arms again go there you wont be disappointed. The Pub is very welcoming with friendly staff and there is always a good atmosphere in there. The food is lush and plenty of it. Thanks to the Landlord and Landlady for organising a fantastic evening.
Had Christmas meal for 13 members of the family this evening. Food and staff excellent throughout, thank you all. Merry Christmas

We visited on New Years Day and experienced the best customer service to date at this establishment. Our waiter (we think he was called Mitchell) was outstanding and had a really great attitude to his job - clearly took pride in what he did. He was excellent when communicating with our 1 year old daughter and even took the time to dig into the lost property and find some toy cars to keep her occupied. The food was excellent as we have now come to find on a regular basis. Very happy customers who will be returning again soon.
Friendly staff. Really nice food. Make sure you wear a jumper in the winter it can get a little chilly but there is always the open fire to warm you up. Looking forward to my next visit.

Excellent value for money food was very good and very reasonably priced. Portion size is sizeable, beer is excellently kept. Staff are sound. Clearly on its way to being a gastro pub if it stays as it is it will be rammed every night and you better book. The best aspect though is their gluten free menu.... CHOICE and lots of it! Gluten free fish and chips is well worth it!
Visited the odd wheel on Friday evening, had a drink in the bar before my meal. Landlady was very approachable and recommended the local Salcombe Gin and Elderflower tonic. We followed this with an excellent evening meal on the restaurant side of the pub. I had the haggis bon bons for starter followed by the hake and curries cauliflower. Both were fantastic. My partner had the rib eye steak, which he commented was the best he'd ever had. We followed this with an excellent liquor coffee. All the staff involved in our service were fantastic, Both knowledgeable and friendly. We will be back.

Great little pub. Has been refurbished to a high standard, but unlike lots of other pubs, it has kept its own identity and original features. Beer, real ale, always very good and well kept. Only had a pub lunch snack which I was very happy with. What food I have seen ordered by others looks fine. It's on the South West coastal path and dogs are very welcome. My dog always gets a treat and is also very pleased to visit. Well worth a visit.
Always good for a post boat work day pint. The beer is always well kept. The food is good standard pub grub.

Steve and Sue are just fantastic nothing is too much bother, the house is furnished to a very high standard, the breakfast is super, they have no problem in catering for veggies !! We at Selby Aquanauts have been staying with Steve and Sue for a few years now, and wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else.
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Great views and nice location.
The specification doesn't promise much - it's basically just a field. But the location is glorious, with a great view over Plymouth Sound, and great accessibility for walking and cycling. We'll be back.
