The Bridge

55 Shaw Way, Mount Batten, Plymouth PL9 9XH, UK – 01752 403888

Smart modern decor well lit makes this a really pleasant place for dinner. Good well-made fresh food with good flavours. One of Plymouth and South Devon's best restaurants in my experience. Menu could be a little more imaginative.

Good food, beers and service. Recommend you book a table as they get busy.

The Thistle Park Tavern

32 Commercial Rd, Plymouth PL4 0LE, UK – 01752 204890

I no longer live in Plymouth but always like to visit the thistle when I return to my home town. The Thistle remains Plymouth's pre eminent boozer; great beer including local brews, live music on occasion, friendly staff. But more than anything else, the Thistle retains its unique character which, despite being well travelled I have yet encounter anywhere else. I have many happy memories of this place of great nights out over the last 20 plus years.

Good atmosphere, live music and friendly staff. Went back the next day, without the live music it was slightly subdued but still nice.

The Clovelly Bay Inn

Boringdon Rd, Plymouth PL9 9TB, UK – 01752 402765

Great pub with a good atmosphere, range of beers and ales. Food was very good, we'll priced and plenty of if. Definitely a place to visit. Probably best to book if you wish to eat.

Always a good beer to be had, although the current run on Bays seems to be an exception. It’s probably just me but I just don’t get on with the base malts that Bays use. However this is made up with the plentiful supply of proper job. The food well it needs no introduction and you won’t go hungry.

Pizza Hut

Barbican Leisure Park, Plymouth PL4 0LG, UK – 01752 255881

Small pot of fries 3,60£! Ok they were really tasty. 4 stars as they offer vegan pizza with vegan cheese which was actually very delicious. Also the base can be chosen gluten free. No coke on the menu just Pepsi which I don't like. Sauces were nice and staff was ok one of the girls was especially nice and friendly but did not see her name. We paid 46£ for three drinks three pizzas and two pots of fries. I know it's the average price for a pizza place in UK but if I went into Tescos I could buy a cart full of vegan junk food that would last me for at least two days 👌

Excellent staff very friendly. It's a new menu since we last went great toppings but found the thin crust a bit rubbery.

Pizza Express

16 Barbican Approach, Plymouth PL4 0LG, UK – 01752 269900

Pizzas suitable for vegans varied in interest and rarely topped my score chart. But now they have added vegan mozzarella to their menu things have taken a step for the better in my opinion.

Booked early, 5pm, food was excellent as always. We have steered clear of PE because service has always been inattentive. However, our young waitress was pleasant if a little quiet. Other more experienced waiters were around the restaurant, with a very friendly and confident manner. We shall definitely revisit :)

Frankie and Benny's

Barbican Leisure Park, Barbican Approach, Plymouth PL4 0LG, UK – 01752 676820

If you have a deal it is worth visiting. The food is standard chain stuff though. Always worth booking a table as they do get very busy.

Barbican Leisure Park, Barbican Approach, Plymouth PL4 0LG, UK – 01752 225627

Vegetarian or Vegan Restaurants

The Hidden Olive

1 Pinnacle quay, Sutton Harbour, Plymouth PL4 0BJ, UK – 01752 657070

I love this place. I've been many times to their vegan evenings and also went to their clairvoyance evening. This place does amazing food and has a great selection of gins to drink! It is even dog friendly but I've not been brave enough to bring my puppy yet! They have a lovely long haired daschund that sleeps in the restaurant which always provides great company and comfort.

The Hidden Olive is a gem. How many places offer tapas, pizzas, a full vegan menu including breakfasts, scrumptious soups, meaty stuff, a crazy gin selection plus a stunning view of a harbour?? I doubt there's another. There's parking right outside. There's the sweetest house dog. What are you waiting for?!

Suphas

East Quay House, Sutton Harbour, Plymouth PL4 OHX, UK – 01752 228513

What a gem street style food cooked to your taste. If you don't like it hot you will be fine, hot is for heroes. Good selection using local produce I plan to be a regular.

Well if I could give this more stars I would! Dan was really helpful with the menu and the service from Zara was warm and friendly. All of them were great to deal with to be honest. I could probably count the amount of times I've had mussels on one hand but the ones on the street small section were unbelievable! Beware if you don't like spicy. If you do you're in heaven like me! I tried their home made curry with beef which was extremely tender. I cheated and used a fork for this one with jasmine rice. Great dish! Can't wait to try more of the menu next time I'm in the area. I strongly recommend anybody who likes Thai comes to this place. I nearly forgot to mention how fresh everything tastes. They use local produce wherever they can.
