The Odd Wheel Pub

Knighton Rd, Wembury PL9 0JD, UK – 01752 863052

Stopped here without plan, very impressed. Good range of beers and Gins, which were enjoyed with a Sunday lunch on the sun drenched terrace. The roast was delicious and plenty of it. Seems like a popular place for the locals and travellers alike. There were 6 in our group, and we all enjoyed our food. Toilets nice and clean too! The owners were friendly and helped steer me to the right ale for my Hubby. The young waitresses were all pleasant and helpful too. Basically we had a great stop and left very happy indeed.

Brilliant! Dropped in with my family for a meal. Warmly welcomed, and treated like like kings. Great food and great atmosphere. Liver and bacon beautiful, followed by the lemon posset! Oh happy day!

Plymstock Country Pub & Carvery

88 Church Rd, Plymouth PL9 9BD, UK – 01752 406474

Very pleased to be able to visit the Plymstock Inn again after a 2 year self imposed ban. New tenants seem very pleasant and welcoming not the the riff raff that had it before. Happy to take the family back. Cheers

Decent beer and friendly service. Food OK but not really recommended. Pity as this is a nice pub with lots of potential, but the current management don't seem to have the energy to make the best of it. Good parking.

The Clovelly Bay Inn

Boringdon Rd, Plymouth PL9 9TB, UK – 01752 402765

Great pub with a good atmosphere, range of beers and ales. Food was very good, we'll priced and plenty of if. Definitely a place to visit. Probably best to book if you wish to eat.

Always a good beer to be had, although the current run on Bays seems to be an exception. It’s probably just me but I just don’t get on with the base malts that Bays use. However this is made up with the plentiful supply of proper job. The food well it needs no introduction and you won’t go hungry.

Pizza Hut Restaurants

Barbican Leisure Park, Plymouth PL4 0LG, UK – 01752 255881

We stopped off here to eat before going to the aquarium and it was just what we were looking for. The did was nice and the staff were friendly. They even or up with our little one "doing laps" around the restaurant! Good atmosphere for families.

I Ordered a vegan and gluten free pizza and they were delicious, the service was fast and friendly, we loved it! Thank you for catering for special diets. Wasnt too busy and salad bar was good..

Pizza Express

16 Barbican Approach, Plymouth PL4 0LG, UK – 01752 269900

Nice food and usually seems a little less busy than the others around. Staff were friendly and the place was clean.

Good food as with all Pizza Express's, quick service and very efficient despite being busy. Was easily in and out before going to the cinema.

Bella Italia Plymouth Barbican

Barbican Leisure Park, Barbican Approach, Plymouth PL4 0LG, UK – 01752 225627

Great place to have a meal. Friendly staff. Drinks are expensive. Great food. You can get vouchers online for money off online for every day except Saturday but if you have cinema tickets for that day you can get 25% of main courses. Lovely atmosphere in the restaurant particularly when busy. You can also have takeaways but you have to order in the restaurant. If you search online on their Web site you can usually find a 50% off takeaway food voucher which is then emailed to you.

This is part of the Bella Italia chain, and one of two located in Plymouth. When we visited for dinner early in the evening, it was already busy. The restaurant serves Italian food (there's a clue in the name) mainly pasta and Pizza. The food was generally of good quality, other than my dessert (Tiramisu) which was rather disappointing for over £6. Our visit coincided with some staff shortages, so we had to wait quite a long time to receive our meals and drinks at every course. However our waitress was very good and kept us informed, and along with all the staff, did the best she could under the circumstances. We received a discount for the wait, which was volunteered by the restaurant manager (I did not ask for one). This was a welcome gesture, and an excellent example of putting the customer first. Well done Bella Italia!!

Chinese Restaurants serving the Plymouth area

Wah Tien Chinese Restaurant

1 Radford Park Rd, Plymouth PL9 9DG, UK – 01752 657676

The food does take a long time as it seems to be freshly prepared, rather than pre warmed. But, it is easily the best Chinese we have had in Plymouth ^_^ (sit down in the restaurant and order one of the sizzling dishes, it provides quite a show ^_^)

Just started using this again impressed will call again good prices

Ming Dynasty Restaurant

203 Billacombe Rd, Plymouth PL9 7HG, UK – 01752 492225

Excellent Chinese & Japanese cuisine. Didn't book but was made very welcome. We had an all you can eat banquet for £10.99. It was excellent. Excellent selection. Desserts were lovely too. Thank you. This was a perfect unplanned meal for two.

Our local chinesse , we find the staff, Prices are fair and the waiting times are good.... until you get home with the food.. #$@$=@@ I really dislike making complaints regarding anything however the food was so poorly cooked And feel that we are all going to pay for this in 24 hours. So service gets the 5 stars then minus the food .. gives the score a 3 . SORRY

Top China

29 Percy Terrace, Plymouth PL4 7HG, UK – 01752 228858

Always good food, even better at the weekend. Sambal is delicious 👌

Good food that you can see being cooked.

Indian Restaurants and takeaways in or near Plymouth

Lackys Balti House

4 Hooe Rd, Plymouth PL9 9RG, UK – 01752 404882

Good indian cuisine. The main issue is that they try to cheat their customers. The first time we went, we dined in. After paying the bill, we noticed that the total was 3 pounds more than if you add up the individual items on the bill. We were overcharged. This error turned us off the place. A few weeks later, we decided to have another go. This time, we added up the items, before paying, just to make sure. Lo and behold, once again the total was 3 quid more than it should have been. While this might be two random coincidences, IME this place tries to cheat customers. Twice in a row, the same 3 quid overcharge. Now that we are aware, we will double-check their math every time, and now it's only a minor annoyance. In summary, double check their math. You've been warned. Oh yes, the food and service is very good.

Place named after the daughter who works there. Family run. I have used it frequently and have always found it great. Does takeaway as well. You can take your own wine. ( remember to take the empties away with you).

Saffron

11 Radford Park Rd, Plymouth PL9 9DG, UK – 01752 484441

I only live around the corner and yet it's the first time I've had food from here. I'll definitely be going back, great selection of foods and if everything else tastes as good as my first meal then it'll be superb

Very nice family. Always get a smile and freebies

Mombay Brasserie

Unit 1, Penrose House, 4 Sutton Road, Lockyers Quay, Plymouth PL4 0DX, UK – 01752 228281

Service was a little slow but the food was excellent.

Took the family, excellent food and very friendly staff(cris) and owner. Our main dishes were all cooked to order and tasted excellent. I ask the waiter for advice on the menu and got some great tasting dishes. Would highly recommend!

Italian Pasta and Pizza Restaurants

Frankie & Benny's

Barbican Leisure Park, Plymouth PL4 0LG, UK – 01752 676820

Cheep American food. Good for groups of fussy eaters. Last time my partner arrived before I did and the waitress hovered around him to make sure he wasn't stood up which was kind. But also, they once gave our Birthday cake to another table. It's convenient for the cinema mostly.

Great food and reasonable service but a little bit pricey.

Nando's

Barbican Leisure Park, Barbican Approach, Plymouth PL4 0LG, UK – 01752 664907

I have eaten here often with my family usual after visiting the Vue cinema. It can get very busy and noisy at times due to its popularity. The food has always been nice.

Food was nice and tasty although pathetically small and overpriced portions, the staff were super helpful and it was clean and a well presented premises

Vegetarian or Vegan Restaurants

Heaven

162 Exeter St, Plymouth PL4 0NG, UK – 01752 223232

Probably the best value for money Sunday Carvery in Plymouth massive portions, friendly and amenable staff

Really tasty healthy food and great prices. Fantastic for those nights after the gym when you need a takeaway but you don't want to eat anything unhealthly. I am a serious fan. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Boon Tong D H A Thai Takeaway

186 Exeter St, Plymouth PL4 0NQ, UK – 01752 221500

Great food and hospitality five stars. The kitchen is off the seating area but does not intrude whilst you are eating. Prices reasonable and good menu choice. You won't be disappointed.

Quick Google search for Thai food in Plymouth and this place was top of the list and a stone's throw away from where I live so thought I'd try it out. Just got some chicken Pad Thai and it's lovely, carton full to the brim so very happy with the portion size and the price was very reasonable. Friendly staff and it's also easy enough to park nearby later in the evening. Didn't even know the takeaway/diner existed until today but will definitely go back again.

Suphas

East Quay House, Sutton Harbour, Plymouth PL4 OHX, UK – 01752 228513

We have eaten here twice, and both times the food was great, really tasty and with a good variety of dishes to choose from, including plenty for vegetarians or vegans. The staff are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. On our first visit, on a Thusday, we had not booked and although it was busy, we were found a table quite quickly. We made sure to book for our second visit on Saturday. The prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended.

Food was SO good. Absolutely smashed it. Authentic with fresh seafood. Friendly staff and relaxed place. Can't wait to return.

Wine Bars and Cocktail Bars

Lockyers Quay Table Table

1 Lockyers Quay, Plymouth, Coxside PL4 0DX, UK – 01752 664353

Good food, quick service. We went for a birthday meal and they said we could take our own cake and they provided plates and cutlery, also our table attendant took it and set it up, then cattied it to the table when required. The extra attention was very welcome.

It is what's it is. A Beefeater look alike but not quite there. Great all you can eat full english breakfast and/or continental . Evening meals adequate.
